B4 -Before

Purpose:

  1. Promotion of running as the simplest form of recreation.
  2. Popularizing obstacle running as a discipline which allows a wider group of participants to check their abilities.
  3. Meeting the needs of OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) enthusiasts.

Dates, location and organisation:

  1. In 2020, the competitions will take place on:
  • 18 Aprio 2020;
  • 4-5 July 2020;
  • 07 November 2020

in Gdynia Kolibki.

  2. Start: Adventure Park Gdynia Kolibki
  3. Finish: Adventure Park Gdynia Kolibki
  4. The schedule will be available on Biegun Facebook page, on the Begun website and in the attachment to these Regulations.

Route and Rules

  1. The route is two laps of approx. 3 km. The route is located at Adventure Park Gdynia Kolibki, lands supervised by Forest Inspectorate Gdańsk and, for summer edition, on the beach in Gdynia Orłowo. Additionally, on the whole route there will be natural and man-made obstacles. Each participant completes one lap.
  2. Entry fee: according to the price list published on Biegun official website (www.biegun.info) and on registration website.
  3. Each running wave has a limit indicated on the registration website.
  4. In order to sign up for the race, it is necessary to fill in an electronic form on the event website and pay the entry fee.
  5. The entry fee is not refundable.
  6. Electronic registration is open till:
  • for spring edition – 12 IV 2020, 9 p.m.
  • for summer edition – 13June 2020, 9 p.m.
  • for autumn edition – 9 November, 9 p.m.
  1. It is possible to register on the day of the competition, provided that there are free places, but such registration does not guarantee that the participant will receive a full participation package.

Rules:

  1. Competitors start together and complete one lap.
  2. After completing route, they run to the finish line and place a symbolic flag at the peak of their abilities.
  3. Time will be measured electronically.
  4. Each competitor must have an identification chip attached to his left or right leg at the ankle level for electronic time measurement. Placing the chip in another place or removing it during the Run will be punished with disqualification. No deposit will be charged when renting the chip. Competitors who do not return the chip immediately after the race will be disqualified.
  5. A competitor who fails to overcome the obstacle may continue the race provided that he fulfils the penalty adequate to the difficulty of the obstacle. The referee oversees proper fulfilment of penalty.
  6. The referee’s decisions are final.

Control points and time limit:

  1. On the route, there will be unmarked and marked checkpoints secured by technical referees.
  2. Competitors of category B4-Before are subject to a time limit of: 2.30 hours.
  3. After the lapse of the time limit the competitor is obliged to leave the route and will not be classified.
  4. The competitors can drink and eat during the race if they supply such drinks and gels themselves.
  5. The competitors cannot relay of spectator’s and other participants’ help when overcoming the obstacles.

Participation:

  1. Competitors compete in Biegun Race at their own risk. Providing the Organizer with a correctly completed Registration Form and paying the participation fee means that the Participant has considered and assessed the nature, scope and degree of risk associated with participation in Biegun Race, including the risk of accidents, the possibility of personal injury and physical injuries, as well as damage and losses of a financial nature, and voluntarily decided to take this risk.
  2. The judge of the competition, whose decisions are final, decides about the admission to the competition.
  3. Competitors should be characterized by high physical and mental resilience. People who are afraid of water, space, darkness, fire and closed spaces should not take part in the race.
  4. All competitors participating in the race must be verified in the Organizational Office located at the Adventure Park in Gdynia Kolibki on the day of the competition, at the times specified in the schedule.
  5. The Organizer provides a place to change clothes and a washing point after the race. The Organizer shall not be liable for the runners’ belongings left behind.
  6. The condition for classifying a competitor is to run along the approved route of the race and finish the race in required time. Competitors who do not finish the race within the required time will not be classified.
  7. Participants are bound by these regulations.
  8. Participation in the run is allowed to all individuals who:
  • have registered via biegun.info and paid a fee, and people who received voulchers from contests organized by Adventure Park Gdynia Kolibki.
  • will turn 18 on the day of the competition
  • are aged 16-18 will be allowed to take part in the run after presenting a written consent of the parent or,
  • who do not have medical contraindications to participate in endurance-type endurance sports, who reported their participation,
  • will sign or sign by proxy, and in the case of minors by a statutory representative, a statement on the ability to participate in the Biegun Race and present a photo ID at the Event Office.

Classification: no classification

Registration:

  1. The Organizer manages the event registration according to the order in which the registrations are made and the entry fees are paid, until the limits of places in individual turns are exhausted. Registration is open from December 2019 until the day of the event inclusive. The registration must be made via the website. The registration fee covers the costs of:
  • accident insurance
  • medical care along the route
  • commemorative medal
  • meal after the race
  • set of BIEGUN OCR gadgets

CAUTION:

The Organizer does not refund the registration fee to participants who do not attend the start at the appointed time or have resigned from the event after the registration.

  1. If you want to change the application form (personal data, team name, start-up wave), changes will only be made after providing the confirmation of a money transfer (PLN 40.00 minimum) for any charitable purpose.

 

Final remarks:

  1. The start number must be placed in a visible place.
  2. It is forbidden to clutter the route (the runner must take all the packaging after nutrients and all other rubbish to the finish line). In the case when the participant is caught cluttering the route they are immediately disqualified!
  3. The Organizer reserves the right to decide on any disputes not covered by these regulations.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to change the program of the event (without prior notification of the participants) resulting from unforeseen situations.
  5. The Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the event. The final version of the regulations will be available before the start of the Run in the Event Office.
  6. The Organizer reserves the right to use the image and comments of the participants who take part in the event free of charge for promotional purposes.
  7. The Organizer reserves the right to use all photos, film materials, interviews and sound recordings of the race participants free of charge worldwide. They can be used by the Organizer by placing on carriers, in catalogues and on the media, on websites, in newspapers and at exhibitions, as well as on promotional and advertising needs related to the activities carried out by the Organizer.

Complaints and requests:

  1. Competitors have the right to lodge a complaint to the judging panel after paying a deposit of PLN 250. In the case of a rejected complaint, the deposit is not refundable and will be entirely transferred for charity.
